Multiculralism: Just A Thought

In a world full of different people, in a world full of money, so rich in Nature and diversity, I feel that same world is still poor when it comes about values and accepting the others.
Whether it’s the fat lady at the company, the Arabian who sells carpets or the boyfriend of our neighbour’s son, discrimination still exists!
Women still get less paid but “double-job”, LGBT are still hide because of their fear of getting beaten, teenagers are still getting anorectic because they don’t want to be fat, and the list goes on…
If I sometimes think that we took one step forward, I right after have the proof that we took two backwards.
I’m not going to say that we must fight discrimination, because that should never exist. I’m going to say to you love you as you are, and let the others do the same. I’m going to say to reduce the hypocrisy that exists in this world. Because the world is full of unnecessary wars, so let’s avoid this one!

Oprah Winfrey

Born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, Oprah Winfrey was reared by her grandmother on a farm where she “began her broadcasting career” by learning to read aloud and perform recitations at the age of three. From age 6 to 13, she lived in Milwaukee with her mother. After suffering abuse and molestation, she ran away and was sent to a juvenile detention home at the age of 13, only to be denied admission because all the beds were filled. As a last resort, she was sent to Nashville to live under her father’s strict discipline.
Oprah Winfrey’s broadcasting career began at age 17, when she was hired by WVOL radio in Nashville, and two years later signed on with WTVF-TV in Nashville as a reporter/anchor. She attended Tennessee State University, where she majored in Speech Communications and Performing Arts. At the age of 19, she became the youngest person and the first African-American woman to anchor the news at Nashville’s WTVF-TV.
In January 1984, she came to Chicago to host WLS-TV’s “AM Chicago”, a faltering local talk show. In less than a year, she turned “AM Chicago” into the hottest show in town. The format was soon expanded to one hour, and in September 1985 it was renamed “The Oprah Winfrey Show”.
In June 1987, in its first year of eligibility, “The Oprah Winfrey Show” received three Daytime Emmy Awards in the categories of Outstanding host, Outstanding Talk/Service Program and Outstanding Direction. In June 1988, “The Oprah Winfrey Show” received its second consecutive Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Talk/Service Program, and she herself received the International Radio and television Society’s “Broadcaster of the year” Award. She was the youngest person and only the fifth woman ever to receive the honor in IRTS’s 25-year history.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

The serie premiered in Japan on October 7, 2006 and it is still ongoing. It is developed by Artland and is airing on the television network TV Tokyo. Reviewers from the series praised its use of comedy as well as the designs used for the infants characters. They also mentioned that though it has become more violent since volume 8, it has turned into a better shōnen (teenage boy cartoons; mainly it's more violent and has more fights)series, praising the storylines and the fights.

The Reborn! story revolves around a boy named Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Sawada, who is chosen to become the Vongola Family's boss due to him being the great-great-great-great grandson of the first Vongola boss, who had moved to Japan from Italy during his time. He is told by Reborn that he will become the tenth(decimo in italian) Vongola boss. Also, the other candidates for the position of the head of the Vongola Family have died. For these reasons, Tsuna is the only remaining heir. As such, Timoteo a.k.a.(also known as) "Vongola IX", the current head of the family, sends Reborn, an infant hitman from Italy, to train Tsuna. Tsuna then unwillingly undergoes training from Reborn. Reborn's main method of teaching Tsuna is the "Deathperation Bullet", which will make the person be "reborn" with a stronger self intent on fulfilling his dying will. Through his experiences, Tsuna unconsciously becomes stronger and more confident, which ultimately makes him better suited as the Vongola Family's boss despite continuing to reject his Mafia inheritance. He also starts making several friendships such as his crush Kyoko Sasagawa.

Tsuna goes through many predicaments in his progress of becoming the Vongola boss including fighting against escaped Mafia convicts posing as Kokuyo Junior High students. Later, The Varia, Vongola assassin squad, claim the right for their boss, Xanxus to be the true Vongola boss, and start a competition to decide it. To defeat the Varia, Reborn recruits most of Tsuna's schoolmates to become the Vongola guardians: Hayato Gokudera, a dynamite expert who wishes to be his right-hand man, Takeshi Yamamoto, a baseball player who thinks the Mafia is a game, Ryohei Sasagawa, the energetic captain of the school boxing club, and Kyoya Hibari, the deadly head prefect. Lambo, a weak infant assassin who came to kill Reborn, and Chrome Dokuro, a girl who has a mental and physical link with the criminal Mukuro Rokudo, joins them as well. Later, after defeating the Varia, Tsuna and his friends are transported to the future where they must face the Millefiore Family, who are annihilating the Vongola. As Tsuna and the Vongola Guardians from his time fight the Millefiore they learn that Shoichi Irie, a comrade of Tsuna's future self, was the one who sent them to the future as the future Tsuna said they were the only ones who can defeat the Millefiore leader Byakuran. It is later revealed that Byakuran has gained knowledge from parallel worlds and that he wants to obtain all the Mafia rings in order to obtain a power similar to omniscience. However, Tsuna and his friends are able to defeat Byakuran and the Millefiore and return to the past.

Stereotypes

What are labels?
Labels are certain aspects that people atribute to different groups.

Why do people label each other?
People label each other because it's more convinient fro them to do this. Some people don't accept differences very well so they tend to do this.

What are the most common types of discrimination?
The most common are about their race, gender, sexuality, believes (their religion). If you have different opinions let us know.

How does one person discriminate against another?
There are different ways of discriminating someone. They can completely ignore them; they can as if they're superior than them; they can badmouth that person and act violent; refuse them jobs or other inds of things giving the most lame excuses, knowing the real reason is because they dislike that "kind of person".

Recycling

- Do you know how many parts can we separate our garbage?
Well, most people don't recycle because they think that don't have time for doing it. But it's easy, we can separate our garbage not only in 3 parts but 4.

- Do you know them?
I'm talking about Bins, but if we think well we just have there 3 divisions. Yellow, blue and green one.
Into the yellow one we put all the plastic and metal objects. Into the green one we put all the glass, and into the blue one we put paper and carboard.

- Do you know that we can recycle scraps and plants?
This is the 4 part I wanted to talk about. Do you know what are the advantages of this? This can be used for the planting, creating not only natural fertilizer but also energy. A lots of people that study materials that can be recycled and the energy that can be produced by them says, that this is just the begining and, in the future we will take advantages of all the objects, food, plants,etc, to help not only the environment, but also ourselves. We will save energy and create energy!

Don't forget that recycling is very important.

If you find this symbol remind yourself that the object can be or it's recycled.

Every action counts. Protect ourselves and the planet.

Protect the Environment

Three simple actions to protect the environment:
- Save energy;
- Save water;
- Recycle.

Every changes that we can take at home can make a real diference.

To save energy:
- we can turn off the socket of the plug, because even if we are not using them the energy that we spend is almost half;
- we can turn off the lights that we ate not using at the moment;
- we can change our type of lamps. Nowadays, there are not expensive and are easly to find...

To save water:
- we can close the tap while we lather in the shower or when we are brushing our teeth...

To recycle:
- we can dispart our garbage in 3 parts. One division green when you can put all the glassware, other division yellow when you can put all the objects of plastic and metal, and one blue division that is used for paper;
- we can also recycle food scraps and plants. That can be used for the planting, creating natural fertilizer...

Do not forget that every action counts. And this are just a few actions for each tips.

SAVE OUR PLANET! :D

Short Biography

Andre Masson

André Masson (1896-1987) was one of the most important French painters connected with Surrealism. A close friend of André Breton, Joan Miró, and Max Ernst, he joined the Surrealist movement in the early 20s, then disassociated himself from it in the early 30s, focusing instead on a wild, symbolic interpretation of the forces of nature as well as the human condition with its fundamental impulses of love and hatred. Masson had been badly injured in the First World War, an experience which affected him deeply and coloured his depiction of violence as a powerful generative and destructive force running through nature. He was in Spain during the Spanish Civil War, where his work reflected the pain of that conflict as well as an intense interest in Spanish culture. In the early 40s, Masson moved to America and became interested in mythical imagery. Many of his paintings from this period are influenced by African American and Native American myths, and the style of his expression, particularly his adherence to Surrealist automatism, influenced many young American painters including Arshile Gorky.
