Save the last dance

Sara (Julia Stiles) is a girl from a small town with a big dream: to become a world-class dancer.
But when his mother suddenly dies, Sara must abandon her plans and added to his strange father (Terry Kinnear) in Chicago, a neighborhood south of the area. A white girl in a neighborhood of predominantly black people, is that Sara feels out of her place - until his partner is supported by the class, chenille (Kerry Washington) and his elegant brother, Derek (Sean Patrick Thomas) both color. Soon begins a strong connection between Sara and Derek, who through their love of dance are involved in a romance. But as the relationship grows between them, the opposition of his family and friends increases. Now Sara and Derek face the biggest challenge of their young lives - be true to their dreams ... and with each other.
