In 2009 Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) honoured her with the Excellence in Media Award. Artist Of The Weekend

Anastacia Lyn Newkirk born on September 17, 1968 and is an American singer-songwriter. Even not having a lot of sucess on her native country, United States, she has been very sucessful in Europe, Asia, Oceania, South Africa and South America. In 2005 she was recognized for selling over 20 million albums worldwide. Anastacia is very recognized for her edgy, soulful voice and her small stature (160 cm or 5'3'') which led her to being nicknamed "The Little Lady With The Big Voice". In August 2005 she had surgery to correct her vision permanently, and one of her trademarks, glasses, gone. She made headlines and shocked the world when in 2003 was diagnosed breast cancer, months after a surgery to reduce her breast. After the battle won, she became an activist. On April 21, 2007, she married her bodyguard for three years , Wayne Newton, in Mexico. (And since I'm a big fan of hers, I will post not only three, but seven videos of Anastacia, and this will for certain not be last time I'll talk about her).

And now, two surprises:
A live performance at Rock In Rio Lisbon 2006

And a new single with Ben's Brothers, Stalemate

"An Inconvenient Truth"

“An Inconvenient Truth is a 2006 documentary film, directed by Davis Guggenheim, about former United States Vice President Al Gore's campaign to educate citizens about global warming and inspire them to take action. The film chronicles Gore's travels, crisscrossing the globe presenting a comprehensive slide show on climate change that, by his own estimate, he's given more than a thousand times. The idea to document his efforts came from Laurie David who saw his presentation at a town-hall meeting on global warming which coincided with the opening of The Day after Tomorrow. David was so inspired by Gore's slide show that she, with Lawrence Bender, met with Davis Guggenheim to adapt the presentation into a film. The film premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and opened in New York and Los Angeles on May 24, 2006. The film was released on DVD by Paramount Home Entertainment on November 21, 2006. A companion book by Gore, An Inconvenient Truth: The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It, reached on the paperback nonfiction New York Times bestseller list on July 2, 2006. The documentary was a critical and box-office success, winning Academy Awards for Best Documentary Feature and for Best Original Song. The film also earned $49 million at the box office worldwide, becoming the fifth-highest-grossing documentary film to date in the United States (in nominal dollars, from 1982 to the present), after Fahrenheit 9/11, March of the Penguins, Earth and Sicko. An Inconvenient Truth has been credited for raising public awareness of climate change and reenergizing the environmental movement. “

Internet

The Internet is a global network of interconnected computers, enabling users to share information along multiple channels. Typically, a computer that connects to the Internet can access information from a vast array of available servers and other computers by moving information from them to the computer's local memory. The same connection allows that computer to send information to servers on the network; that information is in turn accessed and potentially modified by a variety of other interconnected computers. A majority of widely accessible information on the Internet consists of inter-linked hypertext documents and other resources of the World Wide Web (WWW). Computer users typically manage sent and received information with web browsers; other software for users' interface with computer networks includes specialized programs for electronic mail, online chat, file transfer and file sharing.
The movement of information in the Internet is achieved via a system of interconnected computer networks that share data by packet switching using the standardized Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP). It is a "network of networks" that consists of millions of private and public, academic, business, and government networks of local to global scope that are linked by copper wires, fiber-optic cables, wireless connections, and other technologies

Mobile Phones

A mobile phone (also known as a handphone wireless phone, cell phone, cellular phone, cellular telephone or cell telephone) is a long-range, electronic device used for mobile voice or data communication over a network of specialized base stations known as cell sites. In addition to the standard voice function of a mobile phone, telephone, current mobile phones may support many additional services, and accessories, such as SMS for text messaging, email, packet switching for access to the Internet, gaming, Bluetooth, infrared, camera with video recorder and MMS for sending and receiving photos and video, MP3 player, radio and GPS. Most current mobile phones connect to a cellular network of base stations (cell sites), which is in turn interconnected to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) (the exception is satellite phones).
A mobile phone proper typically has a telephone keypad, more advanced devices have a separate key for each letter. Some mobile phones have a touchscreen.

Do you believe?

The hunt for extra-terrestrial life should include what experts have named "weird life" - organisms which consist of something other than DNA - according to a committee of US scientists.

This "weird life" is thought to exist on many moons and planets, with Titan, one of Saturn's moons, named as the most promising source of extra-terrestrial beings.

The scientists went on to claim that some weird life may also exist here on earth, and have urged people to "go exploring with our eyes wide open".

Do you believe that extra-terrestrial beings exist, or are they a science-fiction fantasy?

Is it possible that in a universe so large ours is the only inhabited planet?

Should scientists receive funding to study in this field or would the money be better spent elsewhere?

Wall.E is the typical Disney movie. And by typical I want to mean “with a message”. And this message is to open our eyes for what we are doing with our world. Of course the romantic angle between Wall.E and EVA makes this message pass in a softly (but probably better) way.
Like all Disney’s movies, it’s a movie for everyone, since the grandmother to the parakeet.
